Nick
Thanks for the feed-back.
I revered the 5200's highly, but am being pursuaded to consider a larger loudspeaker pair which most assuredly will not fit the space.
In earnest -- and because my G91 configuration is a 5.1 theater set, I could get 5200's for this 5.1 room, and relocate my 7000's to the 2ch. Listening room paired with the 808i... If only they would fit. yipes, the room is small for 7k's.
Although the 2.5 way / 3 way / 4 way argument is well applied, I'll concede the 5200 fits the space best ergonomically. and quite a neat set it would be, but if sonics are lost on the melange of high zoot 808, with lessor 5200's then I may have some thinking/ re-listening to do.
I'll swear the 5200's had more precise texture steering and image than my 7's. I'll have to
Alas -- I have the 7k / 808i recipe to fall back on.
Cheers
Bernard
P.S. (John K) I uploaded new firmware into my DSP 7k's and the principle change was overload protection on the midbass driver/s.
nothing else notable.

Why not consider some passive loudspeakers better suited to your room for the second system?
A high end pair of bookshelf speakers with a very nice power amp might better suit your needs?
Just a thought..........
Dynaudio Confidence C1 with 2 G57s and an 808i?

Bernie, don't be persuaded away from your instinct about DSP5200s, if you liked those attributes then get them. They are superb speakers. Put the money into 808 because the front end is really important no matter what the speaker.

I heard the 808i with a G57 + ProAc Response D38'S and it sounded amazeing but i suppose it could sound even better with more high end partners?

Following the passive theme, for a smaller room you could easily consider Focal JM Labs Micro Utopia Be - easily one of the most open and sweet sounding compact speakers ever made. You'd still have 2k left out of the price of the 5200s to buy a decent amplifier.
It's also a lot easier to add other sources to this configuration.
Cheers,
David

Re; the 808, has anyone had a full audition of this awesome machine? I have not been able to find the reviews in the magazines mentioned earlier online. Just thinking about this sonic marvel makes me want to sell the 800 and acquire one ASAP! Many Thanks John
