Hi Guys

Heard some astoundingly good music playing in a cafe whilst on a trip this past weekend. Enquired what it was, and managed to pick up the CD at the airport on the way home. If you are into any ambient/world/east-west fusion/chill (you can tell I have really no idea how to describe this!) then this will be a revelation. It'll give your system a good tickle too, but for the first time in ages, I couldn't give a hoot what this is playing on...it's just amazing. Evidently it's from music played by a DJ in an uber trendy Amsterdam restaurant, there are now 3 CDs available. Here's a link to the Supperclub Nomads' homepage, where they have Realplayer downloads of each track on the album:

http://supperclub.unitedrecordings.com/nomads3.html

Tracks 1, 5 and 14 are my immediate faves, but it's pretty much all good stuff!

I did a bit more digging to find out about the Supperclub, but frankly it looks intimidatingly trendy (and worse)...the kind of place where the Meringovian in the Matrix would hang out!!!

http://www.supperclub.nl/open/eng_index.html ....ooh mammy! eek

Enjoy the music

George

Hi George,

Thanks for the tip.....we listen to this type of stuff fairly often.

I have a Koop CD (they are track 9 on yours) called "Waltz for Koop" and think it is in much the same mood.
Highly recommended if you like supperclub.

Another I also like in the cafe genre is Gotan Project "la revancha del tango". Clubby/caf/Paris/Tango.

Finally, the "1 Giant Leap" CD does a really good mix of world sounds with a great mix of modern pop vocal and great ethnic voices from many really good people. My fave should you find it is "The Way You Dream" with Michael Stipe (REM) & Asha Bhosle

Webmaster, you may need a 'tertiary' area for this type of stuff ?

Moby ?? N'ah...this stuff is much better wink

Derrin Nauendorf - Live at the Boardwalk

This CD was played to me by the Meridian dealer who I bought my DSP 5000`s from.

The music quality is superbly clear, punchy and dynamic and one of the few CD`s you can play at full volume (99) without any distortion.

Recorded live at the Boardwalk, Sheffield and mixed at the Bandwagon Studios in Mansfield

You can read about Derrin Nauendorff and play tracks 1 and 2 from the album on the above web link.

Track 1 is the track the Meridian dealer uses.

Enjoy

There`s one for sale on eBay at the moment and this is the first time I`ve seen one on eBay.

Well worth buying.

Just listening to Nomad3 now - can't say it is my kind of thing, but worth a listen if only to freak the wife out a bit - "what the **** are you listening to now??"

I bought this CD based on the tip posted here as well. I have not listened to it yet because I bought a few other CD's/DVD-A with it. I love dmurfet's comment from his wife.

I just can't seem to take the Dire Straits - Brother in Arms Dual Disc DVD-A/CD out though. This is my first dual disc. This is a great way to release discs. Standard CD case, one disc, works for everyone, no glitches with reading this or that off different layers.

Wow, great disc.

Warning though this is one of those DVD-A's they put you in the middle instead in front of the music. Which I like.

- Fiddler (IMHO)

If you think listening to music is fun, try learning an instrument.
