I have been using digital room correction (DRC) to correct my rather bumpy room response with a convolution filter in Roon. This works very well, but I always feel I lose a bit of dynamic range and transparency. This may very well be my confirmation bias looking for trouble. In my quest to reduce the amount of DRC needed, I started trying to solve it by repositioning my 8Ks. Speaker positioning is most important. It makes a lot of difference, but they are already venturing to the very edges of WAF. Moving them further into the room was received with limited enthousiasm by local authorities. I think the DSP inside the speakers could do some work and could do it very transparently. I was hoping the different position settings in the speaker's DSP configurations could give acceptable results so I could get rid of DRC. However, I was disappointed. Nobody knows what the position DSP settings actually do to the speaker's output, so I measured the in-room response of the different settings. I found that the WALL, SHELF, and CORNER settings give the exact same response (!) and only provide a bass reduction of about 3dB at 40Hz, gradually going to 0dB at 1000Hz. Exactly the same thing could be achieved with the bass settings. Now, it could be that my DSPs are not working properly, but I measured the same behavior when I owned the DSP7200se. I have plots of the in room response, but the gallary doesn't allow me to upload. https://1drv.ms/i/c/d99491d759bb8f3f/IQCX_EbuXs0BSJ6q06QM3ZmzAbO9tcEPEqXW79cDRpPRN9M?e=GYlqmhhttps://1drv.ms/i/c/d99491d759bb8f3f/IQCjRMGwmOGMSbntaOFPfjCpAXH4pLjLCF7EfHkF9j7J4Sk?e=rtbiKchttps://1drv.ms/i/c/d99491d759bb8f3f/IQBRsyFLfvwZTImcQI_KmSP4AQ8UrsPyRMC0nELdUqyzIMs?e=TXOfjpI think there is a lot of opportunity to vary the impact of the DSP settings inside the loudspeakers. I would love it if they allowed some changes to the DSP to improve in-room response. Has anybody else tried this as well? Am I missing something, or are the DSP effects indeed this limited?

Wonder if there is something strange with controller boundary vs setting in the speaker with the function menu.
Subjectively pretty sure I could hear a difference in wall vs free.

No doubt FREE is different, I can hear it. It is about the difference between the other options.

I would be grateful if anybody could measure room response of both WALL and CORNER DSP positon setting. In my system they are identical which seems odd.
