Anyone noticed that with 1.73 the order of the menu entries on the DD Compress setup audio option has changed? According to the manual the order is: Compress Off Quiet Boost Loud Cut Compress Max
under 1.73 the order is: Compress Max Loud Cut Quiet Boost Compress Off
I spotted this after the upgrade when I noticed that my DD compression was showing 'compress max' where it used to say Off!
I suspect that these values are represented internally as 0-3 and I wonder if the order has really changed or that the menu order was (or is now) wrong. Anyone got any thoughts?

I have a problem with AUX Before I updated I used the AUX input on the 861V4 as coax input from the G98 When I now press aux on the remote the 861V4 shows aux, but the G95DH loses picture and the display says aux Please advice!

If have re-typed, as you should have, you need to setup each of the source options again.

Since the new firmware upgrade for the G9x players you can't use the Meridian config software as it's no longer compatible. There is a new version of Mconfig coming out soon.
In the meantime you have to configure your unit through the on screen menus or your player may misbehave.

I loaded the 1.73 update into my G98, typed to 5 and then downloaded my configuration again for good measure.
I checked my settings on screen fron the front panel and I still have the same setup including QB on the DD compression. So where does it say that the current Mconfig is not compatible? Don't you think that Meridian should have pointed this out IN CAPITALS?
I will check again later. Does the G98 have the 96 menu option like the 596?

When I used MConfig after the new firmware my DSP flickered between data/PCM on the display and the unit was crashing intermittently.
A quick call to Meridian technical and I was told that the Config is not compatible and to retype the unit and configure through the on-screen menus.
Cheers

What does the menu 96 option give you? Is this where you can set RGB on component?
How do you access the menu?

This may explain why my config on G98 works OK.
I have not installed the G68 1.27 firmware yet as it would seem the surround controllers are not supported by the current Mconfig but the DVD player is.
The 96 menu was an additional "service" menu on the 596 which allowed setting of 2.0DD to PCM output (among other things). The changing of component to RGB out on BNCs was done via RS232 using Hyperterminal or now MCommand. As you can't access all the settings on the G98 from the front panel menus, I wonder if they still have the 96 menu option?
I think you used to open the drawer, 9,6, enter on the keypad to access it.

you can use 96 menu to avoid the user prohibition in order to fast forward annoying things...
