I use a 8183 for the front speakers connected to the pre out from my surround receiver.
The idea is to experiment with the addition of a center connected to a 218 which is connected to the pre out of the receiver.
Off coarse it would be nice to control the volume of the 218 with the 818, AI told me to "Connect the SpeakerLink Out from the 218 to a SpeakerLink Input on the 818v3" would that work without damage or is there a better way?

Are you using DSP speakers or analog speakers?

Assuming the center would be DSP as well, the 218 speakerlink output would need to be connected to that speaker. Comms is another story. I don’t have a way to mock this up to try it but you really cannot damage anything connecting speakerlink inputs to outputs. You would need to set whichever device you want to be controller and the others not controller. Connecting BNC comms out of the slave speaker to the center comms in just might do this. Set the 218 to use the analog input to whatever source key on the 818 you are using when connected to the SSP.

Thanx for your quick reply Bruce. The center is also a DSP.
Ive connected as you advised. The Sl master off the 218 to the 818 Sl in. The 218 is controlled by the 818. The sl slave to the 5200hc. I had to connect the bnc from the 5200hc to the slave 7200 to have it reacting. I have to sort it out tomorrow as the 5200hc doesn't play music
