I have an Audio Core 200 which I use with my DSP7200SE speakers. I moved house recently so haven’t used the AC200 for a while and have just used the speakers with a single source.

I’ve now plugged in the AC200 but it seems to be behaving rather erratically. I have three sources, TV, CD and an LMS player. If I use the Meridian system remote then the system seems to be fine. It is talking to the speakers in the way that it should. The problem is that the buttons on the front of the AC200 only respond occasionally. When I first switched it on they seemed fine but that changed after about 20 minutes use. The AC200 still works fine with the remote but can’t be switched on or off by the front panel although those buttons do sometimes work.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Could the small wall wart power supply be playing up, it’s probably quite old now. Where could I get a replacement?

The display is also missing a couple of lines but I expect they’re expensive to replace so I can live with that.

Thanks

System: DSP7200SE (upgraded) + RPI (PiCorePlayer) with Allo Digione running Squeezebox system.

Also various legacy 500 components - 557x2, 502, 508-20bit, 566-24bit plus too many other misc amps/speakers.

Missing line on the display is pretty common with the AC200 when they age. Check the power supply for proper voltage output. A power supply with similar specifications can be had online.

Thanks, I'll try and track down a replacement power supply.

Are the screens even still available?

The last time that I enquired, Meridian would replace a faulty AC200 display for £150 - but I suspect that it will be more than that today.

Perhaps I'd better make sure the replacement power supply solves the problem first. It's a useful box though so a screen replacement might ultimately be worthwhile.
