Hi,
I intend to move on my Meridian system.
I am rather out of touch with current prices for pre-owned Meridian equipment, so before I place a for-sale ad, I would be grateful if people could give me an idea as to what would be a realistic asking price for the following equipment, both as a complete system and for the individual components.
Meridian DSP5000 ACTIVE SPEAKERS BLACK 24/96 NON-SMILEY FACE Meridian DSP5000C ACTIVE CENTRE SPEAKER BLACK 24/96 Meridian A500 SPEAKERS BLACK Meridian 555 POWER AMPLIFIER Meridian 518 DIGITAL AUDIO PROCESSOR/ DE-JITTER DEVICE Meridian 500 CD TRANSPORT Meridian 568.2 MM DIGITAL SURROUND PROCESSOR Meridian HD621 HDMI AUDIO PROCESSOR
OTHER Meridian EQUIPMENT Meridian 565 SURROUND PROCESSOR
Thanks for your help.

It's probably best to just put the items up for sale, then negotiate prices on your Private Messages, which is the norm around here.

As someone who was in sales prior to retirement, my experience tells me things are only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. But I sold my 5k's unboxed with cables & remote in 2017 for £500 after paying £3k for a pair of 6k's. My 5kC sold for £275 about 18 months ago when I bought a 5.2kC.
Just happy to get cash after 15 years of use lol.

Check out https://www.hifishark.com/ You can search for previously sold items and it will often include the price. This will help you determine recent demand and market value for your items since they can fluctuate in price and region. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/bgmcHP8m/Screenshot-2026-01-21-at-3-02-28-PM.png)

As someone who was in sales prior to retirement, my experience tells me things are only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. This, and also what someone is prepared/able to let something go for. That, along with the usual fluctuations in price, is why such things are normally discussed in PM here. Anything else can set false expectations on either side of the transaction.

After some weeks I’ve finally sold my mint HD621. It went for £100 plus postage.
IMHO the market for used M gear is very limited. Probably best to weigh it all and set a price of £35/tonne.

I think you correct Mark. With little to no manufacturer support, limited spares and the age of some products, it’s difficult to find buyers unless they have some degree of knowledge of Meridian. Even then not so easy.

It’s probably due to threads like this telling everyone how poor the market has become.

I Think its a kind off a niche market that Meridian serves. "Real"audiophiles don't buy the DSP speakers as it takes away the chance to wonder and "tune" the sound with different cables and amps. The brand is so expensive that not many people got the chance to experience Meridian. That makes the brand less known then B&W and Kef etc which can be bought in almost every hifi store. Even Bose is considered a good audio brand by the main public.....:-) A big advantage for us is that we can upgrade our M gear relatively cheap
