My system is DSP5K front and centre, M60 MK2 rears with 598 DP and 568.2mm.

I'm considering going back to a two channel system and selling my M60's and the 568, but I wondered if there is a way to connect my 598 to the front left and right channels and also the centre channel?

I'm pretty sure that the 598 can drive digital speakers as you want to. There are digital outs for L/R, Surround and C/Sub so it looks feasible. For interest, I currently have 5 channels of DSP5000s with a 598 and 568.2MM but have decided to sell the DSP5000s and go for a 2 channel system. I'm going to keep the 568.2, though, partly because I prefer the sound of the 598 through it and can use it as a pre-amp and partly to preserve future multi channel options.

Hi,

I believe you will lose bass management and delay though.

Steve,

If I use the 598 with L/R and centre how would I mix the rear L/R into the front L/R when I'm playing DVD Audio disc's

Cheers

You wouldn't....you'd simply lose the rear info. TBH, if you were going away from 5.1 and just using a transport, then two channel is the only option that makes sense.

If you really wanted to use the 3 front SP's then you'd be better off keeping the 568 in the setup. At least you can do Trifield etc and also integrate the rear channel info into the front.
