Moving into a new house where I'll actually be able to use all my stored Meridian gear, so I am looking to have a three room system: - Living room: G68/DSP5200 x2/DSP5000HC/DSP33 x2
- Study: G68/DSP33 x3
- Bedroom:561/M33 x3
The G68 manual talks about a "Meridian Three Room Plus guide" at Meridian's site, and I cannot find it there at all. Does anyone have a copy? I'd basically like to be able to access the music streamer etc in the living room from the other rooms when it's selected there, do a "party mode" where every room is playing all the same, etc. The last time I set something like this up was a long while ago, back when it was called "Meridian Multi-room" rather than "Multi-zone" or "Three Room Plus", so any guidance or recommendations here would be really useful. Some questions I'm still pondering: - Meridian.exe doesn't seem to have a way of designing the network for a multi-controller system - Will I just have entirely seperate configs for the two G68s? Any specific config required for their copy/tape/zone outputs?
- Any benefits to using a spoke (study plugged into Z1 of living room, bedroom into Z2) vs. bus toplogy (living room Z1 -> study, study Z1 -> bedroom etc.)?
- The old MConfig.exe will be needed for the 561, but will a 561 be happy in this network with two G-series things?
- How should I be configurating Meridian Comms network numbers etc?
Everything I have is all still DIN rather than SpeakerLink (although I do use BNC comms between the DSP5200s when deployed as stereo). I have my own lash-up PCBs for converting all the Meridian Comms and coax S/P-DIF to RJ45 for the Cat6 structured cabling in the house.

You can find the multiroom guide here: https://www.Meridian-audio.info/public/3room%5b711%5d.pdf
The G68 expects to be SA=1 for itself, SA=2 for Zone 1 and SA=3 for Zone 2. this will giv you independent control in all three zones. This implies star arrangement around your main G68 with the other rooms set as SA=2 and SA=3 respectively. For the second room with a G68, make sure its zones are set to SA=4 and SA=5...
561 will be mostly happy but you'll need to use sources that are common between MSR and MSR+

That link appears to go to the two room plus guide, for 500-series analogue and digital systems, rather than the more modern G-series three room plus guide the G68 manual mentions. I wonder if the guide ever existed!
Setting the second G68 to use 4 and 5 as system addresses for its extra zones is a step I hadn't considered, but it's obvious why it needs to happen now I think about - thanks for raising that!
I need to do some careful source planning and mapping I think if I want everything available everywhere, but I think I'm only going to have Chromecast/PC (via an HD621 on MD1), a 598 (MD2), and a music streamer (some other S/P-DIF) input so hopefully there is a sensible way of arranging that.
Hmm, thinking further - does the G68 downmix multichannel from the MD{1,2} inputs to stereo for the other zones, or do you just get L/R on them?
Thanks again!
B.
