1. This is a URL I happened to find by chance. So I am new to your forum. I do have a 861v2.7 feeding D6K main speakers and D5C center and D5K rear speakers, all 96/24. I recently added a M-2500 sub to use it when watching DVD. I programmed the 861 to feed LFE to the sub when watching movies with the default crossover point at 80Hz and to be silent when listening to music, i.e. CD. But whatever I do, the sub will not go silent when listening to music. It is still there and there always is too much bass in the music unless I swith off the power (unreasonably unconfortable). Has anyone got an idea how to solve this problem? Nether my dealer nor Meridian had an answer.

2. My dealer convinced me about a speaker upgrade on my main speakers. He already has a top notch offer but will not trade in the D6K. Any proposals how to sell these for a fair price? They are 220v, in good cosmetic condition and work flawless.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi, Let the forum know what you want for the speakers. Someone will guide you as to weather its reasonable.
The sub should be controled from your set up. It is on my 565.
Good Luck with it.
Chris

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Re your sub, which presets do you use when listening to CDs?

Cheers

Hello,

thank you for your reply. As you say the sub is controlled from the setup even in the 861. The controller takes my proposals and I can fetch them back from the 861- only the sub continues to play when listening to music...The DSP is set to Trifield mode when listening to CD. One loudspeaker is directed to the center, which I have labelled "small DSP" and one sub is directed to surrounds.

As for the D6K- they are in mint condition and I have the original crates. I thought about 6000,- plus shipping. Would that be fair?

Thanks
Manfred

Welcome to the board....

Trifield AFAIK uses the sub in all circumstances.

Select 'direct' and see if the sub goes silent.

If your speakers are set to small the sub will be used irrespective of the config settings. I guess you have already dismissed this...

The subs do work in any DSP-mode, be it direct, stereo, Trifield or any other. Equally, if I determine the center as large DSP the sub will not go silent. This is independent from having no sub for music in my settings or having a sub in the settings. So in any case I have a bass overload when having the sub switched on during music listening. The problem is somewhat smoothed out if I tell my settings that I have a sub when listening to music but put the crossover-point to 30Hz. But that is no real solution, is it? The sub's sensitivity is set to max low. Do you have any further ideas?

Manfred
