Hi all,

My system contains a Trinnov -> digital 16 ch out -> 271 ->
-> SpeakerLink -> DSP7200 daisy chain (on digital out 2 on the 271) / left set as master RJ45 and right as slave RJ45
-> SpeakerLink -> DSP7200.2HC (on digital 3 out on the 271) / center set as master RJ45.

I got the Meridian Controller app working.

The problem I have is that I don't get the 271 to control the volume of the DSP's.
I can change the volume on the 271 and see this in the app, but on the speakers nothing changes.
I can change the input on the 271 and I see the input on the speakers change.
I can mute the sound on the 271 and the speakers go quite.

But whatever I do, I can not get the 271 to control the volume of the DSP's.

Furthermore the 271 does not trigger the DSP's on or off.

There seems to be a comms problem somewhere, but until now I can't find it.
Even ChatGPT brings suggestions, but till now no luck.

And last but not least.
If I connect the right speaker as slave RJ45 straight into the 271 on digital output 1 it does nothing. Only daisy chain works.

Why I need this.
I want to control the volume of my system with my Trinnov IR remote. There are unfortunately commands the same for Trinnov as the DSP's.

Who can help me out please
Driving me nuts.

I see that you have setup two master speakers. You should only have one speaker as master.

Did you setup a certain speakers as the controller?

I will change the master setting to slave for the left speaker and leave the center as master.
I need to check which one I have set as controller, but I now assume the center should be set to controller.

I have changed the settings:

The the 271 does not trigger the DSP's on or off.

Turning the center (master) on does not turn on the left/right speakers.

Did you wire the front speakers up to the top SpeakerLink output off the 271 and the center of the bottom row? So master and slave comms out from the 271?

Looking at the 271 user guide I see that there is a setting for SpeakerLink. Is this set for ON?

Yes it is.

In the COMMS section of the setup I see there is a Master Speaker selection option.

Has this setting matched what you have setup in the speakers?

Have you set up the 271 to have a source input to utilize the Digital DB25 input ( Altitude 32 ) or the Analog DB25 input ( Altitude 16 )?

If a Altitude 32, have you set a source and preset to output on the AES 16 digital outputs?

Have you set the speakers to use the RJ45 connection?

Have you set the 271 comms to master 1/2 or master 3/4?

Put the IR remote in the drawer and forget it exists.

Both the Trinnov and the 271 are controllable via phone apps or better yet, use a control system.

All changes on the Trinnov need to be saved in your preset.
Be sure to store changes to the 271.

In my system 271 and Altitude 32, I use the trigger out from the 271 to the trigger in on the Trinnov. I have found this to be the most reliable way to control things. I initialize the DSP volume to 87 upon system startup. Volume is controlled by the Trinnov. In my system in the 271 settings, the controller is set to Auto, as are the speakers.

Trinnov, Ayre Acoustics and Meridian use some of the same IR codes. If any of these are used in the same system, a proper control system is a must.
