Yes it seems I did but I was not trying to say the person didn’t know what he was doing ( with calibration). I’m sure he does and he doesn’t have to have anyone else touch his system or pay anyone to do it - his choice and that’s fine But IMO for anyone to claim they are “just as good” at something as a highly trained and very well experienced professional who has an incredible resume and is highly sort after even by Trinnov themselves ( to train their own people) is arrogant at best.

He may get his system to sound very good and it may be ( it may even be 80-90% of what Adam does) but I feel like Adam could still improve upon it. That is my opinion and not everyone is going to agree with that.

I know sound is very much subjective ( besides all the measurements etc being correct). Again he may like what he has done to his own system and that is just fine - he obviously doesn’t want to spend any extra money to have someone else calibrate it.

On the video side I use a very well known calibrator ( to do my projector) who travels all around the USA and he has told me there are people all the time who swear they know what they are doing and claim to do a great job and when any of them decide to have him come calibrate they realize maybe they didn’t know as much as they thought they did and His calibration is better than what they did (in some cases its because of the equipment he uses which is very expensive).

You are correct my money, my choice but I will say this - I have owned M gear for well over 20 years and my system has never sounded this good.

I’m not trying to put in an advertisement for Adam but again if anyone is going to spend the money for a Trinnov and is not going to put in the time and effort to learn how to calibrate it themselves they should consider having a professional do it to get the very best out of it.

There is an excellent article in this month’s Trinnov newsletter that just came out entitled “ Calibration is a Conversation, Not a Preset”.
It states in part how subjective sound is and how vital an experienced calibrator can be along with all the things involved besides just measurements in getting great sound. It states much better than I did in my post on avsforum what I was trying to say.
Sorry not sure how to include a link to the article but it is a very good read.

FYI, it's likely that 2 x front Subs Trinnov Waveforming is on the imminent horizon.

It's confirmed that the latest two front Subwoofer WaveForming option will be enabled in the forthcoming Altitude CI 2.2 (and Altitude 16/32 4.4.5) update - plus new Target Curve/Delay Adjustments, and new Bass Management alignment options.
