Hi,
I Recently purchased a D5KC.2 from a fellow 'Hitchhiker' and we experienced an unusual situation.
The seller (whom I trust) supplied me with a video of the unit fully working prior to my purchase and less than 2 days later I've received said unit which powered up and displayed correctly ... but there was no sound (save a single click when powering on).
After trying all sorts of 'basic' things, typing and leads etc. still no sound … it recognised the input signal (on the display) and everything seemed OK but still no sound.
So, I dismantled the unit, injected tone into the power amps and proved they worked (the usual cooked resistor though).
I then delved into the DSP 'can' and located two sick looking capacitors (those indicated by red arrows)

I Pulled and replaced these two capacitors and surprise, surprise … sound is now produced!
My question is, what is the connection between these two capacitors (if any) and what else should I be wary of that could have caused this failure?
Basically, a heartfelt plea for a circuit diagram or at least a block diagram of the DK5C DSP board to assist my fix, any other comments would also be appreciated.
Paul.
