Hi All,
Just bought a pair of 5200.2’s and matching Centre speaker from an apartment clearance in London, and although i can hookup in stereo to my Bluesound Node been advised that I will need an additional media interface box to hookup the centre speaker?
This came out of a fully automated modern apartment that had a much more complicated floor to ceiling network cabinet than a working office of 100 people I had to relocate not so long ago!!!
Anyhow the combo they were using was a Wyrestorm EX-70-H2X-ARC receiver behind the tv feeding the Centre DSP set to master with the signal fed to and from the cabinet by a Wyrestorm mx-0404-h2.
I don’t need the complexities of this setup and just want to be able to feed a signal to the centre acting as master out to 5200.2’s, and be able to plug Bluesound Node into a unit that will down sample any Tidal hi res files to 96/48 as currently unable to play any hi res material beyond this with Bluesound plugged straight into 5200.2’s.
I appreciate that low cost does not normally appear in the same sentence as Meridian, but really need a low cost single box solution that will enable all 3 speakers in tv mode, and all hi res files to be down sampled!
So if anyone has some workable solutions please let me know accordingly.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Dickz

You would need a Meridian surround processor at the very least to keep things simple.
There are other ways to do this but nearly all would require additional interfaces to make it work.
n the Meridian world, a G61rsl would be the simplest and most cost-effective solution.

Thanks for the info!
Although sounds a bit odd, I’m probably going to sell the 5200.2 3 speaker setup and replace with a stereo pair of 5200.2 only because the 3 speakers are in a unique non standard matching colour, where a specialist interior designer has done their bit, and I can live with the Sennheiser soundbar for tv stuff!

Remember, you can get the cabinets re-laquered by HQ Lacquer in Chessington, Surrey. They will spray the cabinets any colour you desire.
It will be more cost-effective to get the existing speakers re-laquered than to buy afresh.
Then you could sell off the centre speaker.
Just an idea...
Cheers,
Steve

Steve This. I have had several pairs recoloured by HQL over the years, they are truly excellent.

Thanks Steve,
I bought this setup from a seller who is shifting lots of stuff from a modern apartment in central London, as she is leaving the UK.
She had a media wall finished in a grey suede effect and got the speakers finished in the same material and finished to the highest standard with amazing corner stitching detail, so looks like they knew what they were doing!
I’ve since been informed that the unit feeding these speakers was probably a rack mounted Meridian 271, and my fault for missing this, as a rack mounted unit was clearly visible when collecting the speakers, but typically now sold!
I don’t have an issue with the colour scheme, and looking for a simple cheap solution to test out the 3 speaker setup in both Trifield and surround mode from tv signal. Also, current setup feeding speakers via digital coax from a bluesound node won’t play 192/24 hi res tidal files, so looking for a box that will down sample to 96/24.
I realise this is entry level Meridian, but definitely now a convert!!!, and only been a couple of weeks!
All the best
Dick

This Meridian G65 is the successor to the G61. It will deliver Trifield.

What’s your budget?
Could you detail a little bit more about the sources you intend to use with these? It may be that an HD621 or UHD722 might be appropriate, along with a suitable Meridian processor.
Also, your 5200.2 speakers should also have digital coaxial inputs and legacy comms connections, so you are not necessarily tied to SpeakerLink processors, I think.
Do you want Meridian Room Correction? If so, you will need one of the suitable G-series, two of which have been recommended already, or an 861v4 or above.

P.S. I would start a new thread with an appropriate title if you want help with your Bluesound downsampling issue. The thread title doesn’t really mention it so you might be missing insight and help from those on here who use Bluesound streaming gear.
The solution I would recommend for this would be a Roon subscription, as Roon can downsample before the Bluesound node, I believe.
Is there nothing in the settings of the Bluesound which sets the output sample rate of the node’s coaxial digital output?

Unfortunately bluesound node is unable to downsample, as tried several settings and still not playing 192/24 files. Tidal are still hosting MQA files, but are committed to transitioning over to 192/24, so will probably have to change either tidal or find a streamer that supports down sampling!!!
Thanks
Dick
