What are the difference between the DSP8000SL and DSP8000.2 versions?
How can I identify which version is it?
Power on the DSP the front display show only

- blank
- iii maybe
I had the DSP set up to be a master to show the hardware version?
What happens when I try to install the fw 3.16 on a SL hardware?

A DSP8000SL will display "DSP8000" when turned on from the back panel switch. The standard DSP black dome tweeter is used in these models.
A DSP8000.2 will display "DSP8000.2" when turned on from the back panel switch. The tweeter on this model is different from previous models and has a M logo at the 6 o'clock position on the tweeter bezel. The dot two DSP electronics and DACs are also different.
Installing 3.16 firmware into a speaker that it is not meant for could have unknown consequences and is therefore not recommended. Or, maybe not, I won't take the chance to find out with such an expensive speaker.
