Thanks Steve

That sounds like the issue. I thought that the processor would send comms to the rears as it would in an all SpeakerLink system.

I do have an S cable with an ethernet on one end. Would that be usable in this scenario?

Cheers
Tom

Hi Tom,

Depends on how it's wired...

The blue pair (standard CAT5 wiring) are slave comms - Solid Blue being comms and blue/white being ground.

Make sure that the Comms out on the slave DSP7000 goes to the blue pair and is returned to one of the slave connectors on the back of the G61RSL.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks Steve

Sorry I meant it was legacy Comms at one end and rj45 at the other.
Thanks
Tom

Would the following work:

Change the Master speaker to one of the M6s (Speakerlink comms) which would then send the signal around the Comms bus to all other speakers?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom,

That may work, but it depends on the wiring of the adaptor you are using for the DSP7000s...

Give it a try!

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks Steve - Funnily enough, it's the adapter you built for me recently! smile

Hi Tom,

That one was designed to support SL to master speaker, I don't think it will support slave speakers.

The simplest is to wire a slave return from the DSP7000 back to the G61RSL using the blue pair on a CAT5 cable, that will get the slave bus operational.

Cheers,

Steve

HI Steve

Should that cable be a master at one end 240 degree DIN (processor) and slave at the other (speaker) 180 degree DIN?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom,

No - not if you want to get the slave bus operational across the SpeakerLink connections.

You need to get the slave return on the blue pair of a Cat-5 cable. That may need a separate 5-pin DIN 180 plug to a Cat-5 lead (using just the blue pair), connected from the slave output of the legacy speakers to the corresponding slave socket on the processor.

I believe that should put the slave comms back on the correct bus.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks Steve

Would the connection on the processor be front right (not connected to the processor currently)?

Thanks
Tom
