Hi, I was able to create two working alternatives for using the G12 for my Meridian 218 units.
I use a Xantech DL95, but its wiring differs from the G12, so I had to cut the Xantech cable and reorganize it to match the pinout required for the Meridian. I chose the Xantech because it was the only 12V solution I found in Brazil.
If you want to follow the same approach, I can try to draw the necessary wiring modifications.
Basically, the middle wire of the Xantech should go to the tip of the connector (12V+), the wire with a white stripe should go to the ring of the connector (IR signal), and the black external cable should be connected to the sleeve of the connector (ground).
The best approach is to check the pinout of both products and adjust the wiring accordingly.
In my case, when using the 218, I had to change a configuration setting to enable IR signal reception.
Let me know if you need anything else.
Best regards!

Thank you, but Xantech DL95 is rather costy solution for only one IR receiver from bundle, and also isn't for sale in my country. I found this eBay - Xantech DL85link, wll it work with cable modification? Are there other solutions?

Hi!
I never tried the DL85, but according to the manual, it is also 12V, just like the DL95. If you buy it, be sure to download the manual in order to check if the wiring scheme is the same as I mentioned above.
I was lucky to find two new DL95 for about 18 USD each, things aren’t so easy to find here in Brazil.
Best Regards,
Jorge
