Hello,
I live in France, and I have a Meridian 561, I found a broken Meridian 561M, I sent the 561M to an electronics store for repair, it works but the repairman did not have audio capacitors, I started the 561M and the sound is not as nice as my first 561.
Maybe the new capacitors are not for audio?
I wanted to know the official Meridian procedure to change a 561 to a 561M
My current 561 has firmware 1.77
The 561M has firmware 1.75
I also noticed that the 561M audio card has small capacitors cut near the red sockets, certainly to power the 561M module card.
If I want to recover the 561M module card and install it on my 561 which has a pleasant sound, I must therefore also cut the same small capacitors on the 561 audio card I think?
Should I leave the firmware 1.77 too?
Thanks for your help.

I would copy exactly what has been done in the 561M and replicate the modifications in your 561. Note down any changes so you can revert them, and perhaps revert them in the original 561M so it can become a working non-M.

The firmware (v1.77) is the latest and will continue to work when the 'M' board is installed.

If there are any problems, feel free to drop me a PM.

Cheers,

Steve

Hello,
I will follow your advice and modify the capacitors and install the M card to see.
Can I replace the firmware 1.75 with the 1.77 also in the 561M?
I will put pictures of the modifications
Best regards

Yes, you can load v1.77 to the other 561.

Drop me a PM if you need the firmware.

Cheers,

Steve
