On the Auro 2d - there are some other settings - any idea what those do?

Strength is roughly the higher the number the more it does surround and height speakers. The other value is preset.

Unlike Trinnov, neither Lyngdorf nor Storm|Audio AVP’s can natively playback music only multi-channel audio via Roon (without up-mixing).

Even so, the Lyngdorf MP-40/60 specification sheet clearly states both variants have ‘Tidal Connect with Dolby Atmos’ (thereby by-passing Roon).

When you guys have the opportunity, I would appreciate you testing the water with multi-channel albums using Tidal Connect directly on your MP-40.

To save you searching; an example of one such Tidal/Atmos album (as indicated on my iPhone Tidal app) is ‘True’ by Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks.

When I did the demo at the dealer we did an Atmos track or two from Tidal. The problem was I was unfamiliar with the music in question, but it certainly worked and walking about the demo room you can hear the sound coming from the surrounds and the heights.
I am a Qobuz guy through Innuos Sense app and an Innuos Zen Mini Mk3, I may look into a Tidal account after I reinstall everything and looked into what is available on surround/Atmos.

In Qobuz, search for ‘5.1’ for their 5.1 catalogue. Not Atmos, but it is something to try.

I am not a streaming guy, still have all my music in itunes on my Mac Mini (a lot of it uncompressed) using LMS (now Lyrion) and squeezelite running on a WiiM Ultra, controlled using iPeng

My Daughter and I used to have contrasting views on owning Media.

She works for a well-known publisher. She’s loved physical books since childhood. She loves the look, touch and smell of books. Then again, she strictly streams her favourite music.

Likewise, I used to be resolute that I must own all my physical music and movie media. Eventually, I took the pragmatic approach to music, movie and books - and switched wholesale to streaming.

Every time there’s a format change (SD to HD to UHD), the original SD DVD I purchased years ago is progressively upgraded to the latest format without my having to buy the movie again. When a subsequent new edition of a book is published my existing copy is updated at no additional expense.

I still own 2 Squeezeboxes (in storage), and, like you, I used iPeng to control my media via my iPad.

Time moves on, and I overcame my initial reluctance to buy into Roon. There’s such a vast library of hitherto undiscovered music that I would never have found had I rigidly stayed with LMS.

Open to new ideas. How are playlists manifested in the streaming world and what services would you suggest I look at?

I use Qobuz through my Innuos server/streamer. It has 450+ CD rips on. Tidal is another good service that is integrated into the Lyngdorf. Qobuz isn’t.
Probably Tidal is the best option.
You create a playlist just like you would on any device, so the way as you do on your Mac.

With Tidal connect the audio streams from your phone to the MP40? Or the phone is just the UI and the streaming happens from the cloud to the MP40?

The online docx seem to suggest that is how it works, which is interesting.

If you download the Lyngdorf App, not the web interface. You can access the Tidal connect app on the MP40. No phone is required. The MP40 acts as a streamer via the Tidal Connect app on the machine
