From time to time and irritatingly extensively over Xmas I experience regular audio drop outs with streaming via ROON /Tidal.

Source Zenith 2 to 218 to 52KSE. Also in separate room over Gigabit network to another 218 and 52KSE.

The drop out can just be every few minutes or if I am lucky an hour or so. I think it manifests itself by dropping the audio zone ( ROON setup ). It will respond to manual reset from pause to play. It often requires reselection of the respective audio zone in Roon - depends how quickly I try to reset.

I thought this was a 218 issue but now observe it also occurs on a networked MS200 into 5Ks and another MS200 into F80

This occurs on Tidal streamed music, streamed radio or even CDs stored on the Zenith

I have another audio zone using a Naim Muso 2. This almost never falls over and will play all day without problem.

The network here is rock solid Unifi Gigabit 6A with incoming Fibre broadband 1000/1000.

Any ideas appreciated

NB the network has been exhaustively tested and appears to be clean.

it might be the streamer maybe, do yu not have a computer in your network with better specs to run the roon server?

I have a Mac Book Air M2 chip , however the Innuos Zenith 2 is a very high end streamer with SSD etc. No PC can compete with that.

It is a sad fact however that historically Roon have disliked all Innuos products - their reasoning has never been very objective.

Albeit was a few years ago but I had very bad experience with Roon Tech service on an an Innuos Zen Mini which they criticised in no uncertain terms almost libellous.

They are warning when using roon server is needs quite a bit of recources and as the zenith only has 4gb of ram available that might not be enough anymore.

I have observed that Innuos is giving the option to use Roon 1.8 or 2.0. I just updated this to Ver 2.0 . Will see if that makes a difference
The Zenith of course has updates and its currently up to date on 2.6.4
