My Meridian system is working fine with the digital inputs (Roon and Optical) but the analogue inputs (phono stage) are very low in volume. I suspect I need to change the input sensitivity. But my front panel display no longer works. Is there any way to change the sensitivity without the front panel display?

You can change the input sensitivity for each input, along with many other settings using the Mconfig program.
Cheers,
Steve

Do you have a phono preamp already? Just want to make sure you aren't chasing your tail - without a phono preamp stage no amount of analog gain in Mconfig will work.

I do have a phono pre amp. And it used to work before but I might have inadvertently changed some setting while I was trying to get the 808.3 front panel display to work using the remote.
Thanks, Kaushik

Great! Would it be possible for you to direct me to the latest version? The one I have does not support 800 series version 3.
Thanks!

I haven't been able to get it working using the RS232 connection. Is that the right connection to use or do I need to use the USB connection?

It is the RS232 connection - make sure you are using the right one - from memory there are two serial ports on 808.3, one marked “maintenance” by itself on a panel in the middle of the player, and one marked “RS232” which is on the same card as all the comms and trigger connections. You want this one, on the comms card (800 C00), marked RS232.
What USB-Serial adapter are you using - if you use anything but the recommended Tripp Lite Keyspan USA-19HS you will often run into issues. You will also need a good null modem cable such as Tripp Lite Null Modem Gold Cable DB9F/F.
Are you getting any error messages?

In my 808.3 there's only one RS232 socket and it's on the Comms card. I used that one. I get this message when I try to "Fetch" - "Establishing contact with the product using COM8... No product was detected. Please ensure a Meridian product is connected to your computer, check the RS232 connection, turn the power to the product off and on again and then retry. Please note that this version of the Configuration Program cannot be used with 800 series version 3 or 500 series products Fetch failed"

Make sure the com port you have the USB-Serial adapter plugged into matches the actual one in use.
Are you using the recommended cable?
