Good afternoon, I need some advice on connecting the second set of Meridian speaker. My main system consists of HD621 + 861v4 + DSP7000. Today I'm picking up the DSP3200 set for computer audio output. The question is, how do I connect such these speakers to a PC via SpeakerLink? I need the simplest and cheapest way.

I think you would at least need one of the g-series with a SpeakerLink output or a Audio core 200

You can’t directly, as they only have SpeakerLink (aka AES) connectivity - and they lack the requisite coax input found on DSP5200 upwards. An added 218, with coax and optical inputs is required to connect a computer. Alternatively, a Meridian 210 has an integral UPnP input. You can either add a hard-drive with UPnP connectivity (with your music library) - controlled by a third-party app, or a UPnP connected computer with Audirvana software that enables playback of your music library. A third option is to add a Naim Uniti Core to the UPnP input of a Meridian 210 - then use Naim software on a tablet to manage your music library.

If you are a Roon user, an MS200 would do the job.

There’s a pinned thread about the custom connection you will need to make up, but essentially you need a balun 75 to 110 ohm transformer (I got some used Neutrik from eBay at around 50 GBP each), a custom unbalanced lead for SPDIF from whatever connector on your computer to whatever connector the balun has (some are RCA, some are BNC) and another custom cable (bit of STP cat 5/6/7) with one end cut off and an XLR put on.
You will also need a different cable to access the serial port of the speaker to setup the configuration, because you don’t have a SpeakerLink controller to do that for you. This assumes that your PC output will be variable. If you want to make the PC output fixed, you’ll need a more complex custom cable combining both of the above onto a single RJ45 so you can send volume control via RS232.

I don't listen to the music, I need connect to PC for use DSP as PC speakers.
Is the 218 controller the best option for me? I can take optical from motherboard. How would control on/off of DSP and volume control?

Fortunately I have the AC200 so I go straight from PC to the AC200 obviously not the cheapest option.
Could the Distributor 1 do the job? I can get them cheap second hand I think.

Here is my new PC setup: ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/58gBQcm/IMG-5352.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/PzmrDcK/IMG-5351.jpg) The only question I have - how to use standby mode of DSP3200s? I want them to go sleep with PC and turn on when optical signal (sound) from PC goes to 218.

Meridian G12 plus MSR2 is the solution.

I’ve got MSR+ remote - can I use it? Is the G12 is only suitable sensor? No analogs?
