Hi, I would appreciate some advice if possible please…
I recently purchased a 568.2 and a DSP33C.
The DSP33 works when fed directly.
I hooked it up to my 5200’s which work fine, but when I added the DSP33C as master in Trifield mode, the comms work but there is no sound from the centre.
I’m not sure if missed something but I would like to know if there is a simple way to check that the centre channel on the 568.2 is working.
Many thanks

All DSPs can be configured to play the left signal or the right signal in the SPDIF stream. I assume you've checked the toggle switch on the back panel?
A test you could do to determine which your DSP33C is configured to play is to plug it into the L/R output on your 568.2 and then play a signal into left then right and confirm that it plays the correct signal.

Hi Chris, thanks for your reply.
Yes the DSP33C is set to L/C
The 568.2 is type 2.1 D_ _
I have a D1500 sub which I want to add once I’ve figured it all out! Is it possible to use the sub to check if the centre/sub channel works? I have only skimmed through the online manual and I’m not even sure how to link them yet.
I’ve read about the DSP33 reset but I am a bit worried about sticking metal pins into electronics!!!
Thanks again

Ah, you'll be wanting at least type 3.1 to enable the centre output on the 568. Page 68 in the user manual here for reference.

Hi,
If you already have a 5200 as master speaker, I'd leave that alone and just add the DSP33 (and sub) as a slave.

Maybe I'm missing something but the DSP33's do not have a remote signal receiver or display, so not sure that they can be used as a Master anyway. Hope this helps and not hinders! Kind regards, Jon

Ah, you'll be wanting at least type 3.1 to enable the centre output on the 568. Page 68 in the user manual here for reference. This x1000 - that 568 needs to be told it is 3.1 DDD. Re-typing is necessary. Reading the manual - twice - and backwards just for fun - should help. You'll need the .1 and extra D on the end when you add your sub.

Thanks for all your replies. I have been trying to sort this out for weeks and previously had it set up as 3.0 DD but had no sound from the centre. I didn’t want to confuse things further by adding the sub.
My nephew has the same setup and as a last resort I asked him to check his settings and let me know. That’s how I ended up with 2.1D
I originally set it up with the 5200 as master but had different volumes on processor and speakers.
I have some time off work from tomorrow which will let me check the dsp33 settings.
I believe the DSP33 default setting is master but I may be wrong.
I will be looking for a 5200HC soon (which would make things so much easier with its display) but only once I know that the 568.2 is working properly.
Thanks again

Configure one of your 5200 as a centre. Use that to test your 568.2 centre output.

The left DSP5200 will respond to the center signal without having to reconfigure the speaker. Simply plug the digital cable from the center/sub output of the 568 into the digital input of the left DSP5200.

Hi
I suggest that the reason that you have different volumes on the master and the processor is that you need to designate which unit is the controller. If the 5200 Master is in sight of the remote when listening, I suggest you make it the controller. You will then need to set the 568 as non-controller. Easy way to check is to put the sytem into standby and then press Clear on the remote; each unit will then show whether it is Con or Non Con, if you have 2 units showing Con, then you need to rectify.
Hope this makes sense. Kind regards, Jon

Thanks Jon, I have been through the con/n con scenario. The 568 is Controller and 5200 master is N controller.
When I get home I will re-configure everything and have the centre at the end of the chain again, with one of the 5200’s as master.
It’s been almost a month now, reading the manuals, replacing cables etc, that is why I think there’s a problem with the 568.
I have a few days off (instead of an hour here and there) so hopefully I will be able to work it out.
Thanks again
