Hi there all, hope everyone's been well.
I recently purchased up a C61R on eBay in real nice shape for use with my office/workstation setup, 5.1 with JBL 7 series active monitors, digital hookup except the sub.
Seems the issue on these and the older G (or the C61) series units in general are the PSUs tend to go and since I have no way of knowing how old exactly the unit I will be getting is- so probably best to just replace it.
I searched around on here and saw some posts/literature but they were all about the standard, smaller XP series PSU Meridian changed on later production G/C series before the LPSUs came along.
Can anyone point me to a part number of where/how I can purchase the LPSU upgrade for the C61R? Plan on doing it myself as it seems to be easy enough. I've done it for my Pioneer or Oppo UHD players.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Big thing is the cost of the LPS for the G series, likely more than you paid for the C61. It is a custom winding so it is not readily available from other sources than Meridian. There is also quite a bit of disassembly required to fit the LPS into the smaller G series chassis such as the G61 and C61.

If you really want an LPSU, maybe it might be worth comparing the cost of upgrading to an 861 with LPSU while you’re at it?

I see. I appreciate the replies, thanks guys. Well thing is, I liked and wanted the native rackmount and pro-audio form factor of the C61 and it was all I needed in that system. I definitely didn't need the 861 there as it's much too large for that system and my requirements in it. I would have bought another G65 (and rack mounted it) but I didn't see any black ones available for sale and I liked the digital coax outputs of the C61 model as well. I also have a spare HD621 to use with it for HDMI MHR audio coming out of my computer. I'm not terribly concerned over the price but rather then long term value/performance aspect for my needs in that system and having heard the benefits of an LPSU, especially in my G65, 861, 258 and in my BD players it's something I wanted to look into to give my C61 a new lease on life and years ahead of enjoyment. Think I may just send it over then to give it a total lookover health check. Wouldn't be the first time I've put money into upgrading/repairing an older component and I always came away pleased with the decision. Especially on more niche use items that I liked. I'm gonna PM you Bruce

That all sounds fair.
I, too, have had very good results paying to have older Meridian gear properly serviced - gives it a new lease of life and sounds wonderful.
