Apologies if this is a newb question. I have just bought an MSR+ for my F80. This is my first MSR. On pressing any button, it emits a high pitch whine, which I presume is coming from the backlight. Is this normal behaviour or have I bought something that is about to die?

Thanks
Oli

Yes, it's normal and a staggering product failure. Incredible that no one from Meridian picked up on it during development.

It is an audiophile detector, if you can hear it and you find it offensive, you are indeed an audiophile. 😁

Thanks guys. Definitely an odd side effect to make it through development!

There is a modification you can do that changes the point where the backlight will come on.

As above, if you can hear the high pitch whine, rest assured that your hearing is still good...

Hopefully the development team for the remote didn't work on sound quality, as indeed, they are deaf! whistle

All the best,
Steve

My MSR+ had very loud noise with backlight on, changed to new one and new is almost silent.

I also hear a noise in my MSR+, but it’s only listenable at close proximity and when there is no ambient noise. Good to know that this is a common think, not a remote about to fail.
