Hi,

I want to find out the polarities of the pins of IA10 card.
I am going to connect the Burmester DA converter to Meridian 861 through XLR balanced cables.
With Burmester, the pin 2 is for negative, and pin 3 is for positive.
I want to know about the Meridian's

Thanks for the help.

XLR pin outs are standard, they don't change from component to component.

XLR are normally ballance signalling connections so polaity doesn't strickly matter. Just make sure both cables are the same to ensure phase coheriance. but normally its pin 1 to 1(Grn), 2 to 2 , 3 to 3.

Just wondering why you would connect a DAC analogue output to your 861 when the signal is going to get an ADC treatment on its way in. I can see that you might prefer the sound of the Burmester's analogue output but wouldn't taking that through and ADC and the DAC inside the 861 (or DSPs? I cannot see a kit list in your signature to see what else you are using) going to end up with the same flavour of Meridian sound anyway? Is the Burmester doing something with the digital input that I'm missing?

Main system; 861v8 ID41, DSP8000SEU fronts with DSP5500 centre and DSP7000 rears (all in lovely silver) 504, HD621
Second system 861v4 ID40 LPS, G98DH, 504, HD621, 2x DSP5200 with DSP5200 centre
MD600 tucked away in study. Lots of other Meridian!
