Hi Everyone

Does anyone know the spec of the bolts for attaching DSP3100s to the stands? Naively, I imagined they would be the same as the ones for the wall brackets (which I have) but this is Meridian, so silly me. They appear to be about 6mm diameter and there is room for about 15mm depth into the speaker base.

Best

John

Hi,

Have you looked on Duncan's Meridian Info site. The link is at the top of all pages.

Many thanks!

Duncan's info is much more comprehensive than I realised.

They are M8s.

best wishes

John

The documentation doesn’t seem to specify whether M8 coarse or fine pitch, however. I’ve been bitten this way in the past (admitted on car electronics) and have stripped out a thread by forcing the fixing.

I’d ask your hardware supplier for a sample of both. If you can’t get samples, but have access to a micrometer, if the speaker needs a coarse thread pitch (1.25 mm), the tapped hole will measure 6.75 mm, if fine (1 mm), then the diameter will be 7 mm.

Thanks for the extra tip,
I've ordered some regular M8s so we'll see.

Best,
John

Regular M8 bolts from accu.co.uk worked a treat.

They call them "Metric Socket Cap Head Screws" (DIN912). There doesn't seem to be a choice of thread pitch.

Thanks to all!
