I am trying to program my Xfinity remote so that I can control the volume of my DSP5500s. There is a procedure for doing so provided I have the four/five digit code for the MSR+ (or any component). I have seen the chart of RC5 codes here as well a chart of the hex codes on the remotecentral.com website, but I cannot find a single four/five digit remote code for the MSR+ (or any component) itself. Is there one? If so, what is it? Thanks.

Some set top boxes allow you to search all the installed device codes to see if any of them work. Does your Xfinity remote have this feature? It would be kind of a long shot for the instructions for the remote have a Meridian code set under Audio devices.

The Xfinity remote has the code search feature you described for the primary codes for the TV but not the secondary device commands for volume and mute. It looks like I am going to have to go with a programmable remote with more flexibility. Currently leaning towards the Sofabaton U2.
What programmable remotes do you recommend to your clients?

Crestron is, of course, overkill for a modest system. The URC MX-790 looks like a good alternative except that it must be programmed by a dealer, which sort of takes all the fun out of it!
