I've checked this forum for any posts about Room Eq Wizard (REW), a free, powerful software for room acoustic measurement for loudspeakers and subs using Windows (10 in my case), a USB mic (Dayton UMM-6) and AV controllers. Usually the process is straightforward for mainstream AVRs, but I have not been able to see any advice to setup Meridian equipment. I have a 568.2mm and an HD621 but cannot get any sound from speakers and subs to be able to begin measurements, despite communication with the REW author on AVNirvana.

Before I post any screenshots of REW and my HD621 configurations, is there anyone out there that has successfully attempted to get REW up and running with their Meridian controller?

I use regularly REW with my HD621/861v6 (and before HD621/G68).

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately it is no help - I have gone through the same process with my Dayton mic. and the HD621. No sound from any output channel using Asio4all and Java. The output supposedly controlled by REW does not work, nor does it work with control passed to the 568 (boxes unticked). The SPL meter in REW works fine when measuring configuration levels to time align the subs and mains.

Can you play any sounds (music) from the PC through the 568?

I've used REW with many Meridian processors (565 to G68) and with many other devices with PC and Macs; if you can get a signal out of the PC it will work.
Are you trying to use a digital or analogue output into the 568? If digital, does the display show 'PCM NL' or 'PCM 44K' etc. (push the display button a few times to get to that display option)

HDMI from laptop to HD621 to 568 via H3. PCM NL on 568. No sound via Windows 10 to any speaker. Output 100%.Weird.

If you’re not using the laptop for music replay, and just want to run REW, you could use the analogue (headphone) output from the laptop to one of the analogue inputs on the 568.

Have you checked that the sound output is set to the HDMI output, and that the 568 and HD621 are configured correctly, the NL means there is no lock (no signal) on the input, or that the signal is at a frequency the 568 can’t handle, 96kHz maximum.

Steve, thanks for the suggestions so far. I have now reverted to analogue, which has solved the problem. Cheers. I would love to know why digital does not work, however. Perhaps audio driver out-of-date?

Have you tried the HDMI output of the laptop into a TV (for example), to see if audio is being put through it, not all computer HDMI outputs carry audio?

Thanks Syles - I had to update my laptop with a new CMOS battery and an SSD. This did the trick along with a swapped out HDMI cable. I now have sound through the speakers, so I'm at the start of the REW process.
