To be honest not a big fan of these new naming schemes, mostly the green and blue section.

Is there a reason why Meridian did this? They come across as both overly simplistic and obfuscating the meaning/purpose behind some of these technologies.

The only thing I could think of is Meridian attempting to rebrand itself and previous naming conventions associated with the Stuart era.

For long time Meridian customers, or those familiar with the tech, some of these functions and core technologies like MHR/MMHR, Apodizing Filter or SmartLink were seemingly forever part of the Meridian lexicon and ecosystem.

Very nice, but for my age somewhat confusing. I think I am still Hector but Hey Ho I suppose this is progress.

Is Vibrohaptic Audio just a more genteel rebranding of ButtKickers for resale with an M logo stamped on them for their custom install business? And what of Ether? Is this the same mystical luminiferous substance that is carried along ethernet cables (which are now reinvented as Speakerlink cables when they have an M stamped on them) or is it some other atmospheric playback effect to join Trifield Horizon?

This all comes across as designed to obfuscate rather than inform.

This tech note was on the dealer support side of the website. I suppose if Meridian is to appeal to a younger audiophile, they needed to rebrand the technology a bit. FIFO buffering sounds so 1980's.

Agreed that these seem like MBA translations, but they need to hire MUCH better marketing folks. Some of these are better for non-techs, but some are worse! And some are downright misleading, which I don't remember Meridian ever doing before.

In your valued opinion do Meridian expect to produce an Idiots guide to Column 2 or just swathe existing great products in newly invented jargon bandages.
This is not intended as criticism but I do not understand the "younger audiophile" reference. IMO changing a few words will have little effect on future sales to customers below 35 YOA , but I would love to be proved wrong.

I was supposing, so just an idea of sorts. Old farts like me are likely not the long term future of Meridian. JMO.

As another old fart who's not in their future I think replacing 'Trifield' with 'Horizon' is the winner. It's no wonder that in 3 years they never definitively solved my Trinnov/Meridian popping problems, too busy creating synonyms lol.
