Hello

Besides differences at back panel, is the video resolution the only difference between the two.
What about sound quality?
Are they the same?

Thanks in advance

I concur with the above, they sound about the same in my experience.

Granted I never got to compare them head to head with the same Meridian processor as I only used the HD621 "as intended" when I was running the 568.2mm. I've never ran the HD621 with the G65 or 861, only the UHD722, so take that for what it's worth.

I'll say this though, the UHD722 is significantly lighter than the HD621 and has a MUCH cheaper feel/lower quality external construction than the HD621. The I/O sockets on the back are of the same quality as the HD621 however, just that the materials used are far cheaper.
You can tell that unlike the HD621, the UHD722 is really meant to be hidden away in a rack or on a shelf. The HD621 is a much nicer looking piece visually which of course has no bearing on sound or video quality.

The internal HDMI boards on the UHD722 are much newer and of better quality (especially the latest iteration of the UHD722) -- as for the Meridian audio circuit, those should be exactly the same though on the UHD722 as they were on the HD621. And they function and work identically.

The best thing about the UHD722 for me besides the UHD/HDR support is it supports HDMI ARC, and the SpeakerLink wire proving the ARC audio back to the processor also doubles as the Comms connection. So you don't have to run a separate Meridian DIN plug wire for Comms like with the HD621 and older systems.

Thanks to both of you for the info.

Now something more:
Can the HD621 cooperate with the 861v3 effortlessly, although the latter isn’t compatible with Mconfig?

Hi

It has a IE42 card.
This has two sets of 3 RCAs for digital multichannel.

I've recently taken delivery of a UHD722v2 and currently it's working flawlessly - after the usual initial set-up idiosyncracies!

Something I've noticed however (perhaps it was there all along) is a pronounced Lip Sync delay on several sources, which might be caused by the addition of more 4K capable sources & displays in my system.
I've found that SKY Q needs up to 60ms of audio delay (which can be set on the SKY Q box itself) but other sources like Apple 4K TV don't have that option.

I've been looking at each source and although adjusting each individual device's internal settings might be the most accurate solution, I wasn't able to find any clear instructions or anything that worked for my 861v8 - but I've realised that a 'global' Audio Delay can or should be set in the HD621 / UHD722x.

I only use my UHD722x to strip out & pass on the Audio stream through one single Input (#4 - SAT) - I use my Lumagen to do all the other switching.

Does anyone else have experience / suggestions with Lip Sync & is there any known variation between sources?

1) SKY Q (4K) - 60ms
2) Oppo UDP-203EU (4K) - ?
3) Intel NUC 7i7BNH (?) - ?
4) MS Display Adapter (HD) - ?
5) Google Chromecast Ultra (HD) - ?
6) Roku Ultra (4K) - ?
7) Amazon Fire Cube 3G (4K) - ?
8) Nvidia Shield (4K) - ?
9) Apple TV 3G (4K) - ?
10) -

I'm hoping other people's experiences show that the signal output from the different sources is indeed similar (which would be logical), so that the UHD722v2 can be 'set & forget' to one common / global delay.
