My Oppo 105D seems to have died. I get a "No Disc" message after inserting a CD.

I am wondering what Meridian owners buy these days for multiple disc format playing.

Thanks,
Brad

Oppo still do repairs as far as I know.

Could be worth contacting them, if you’re happy with the 105’s overall performance

Cheers

I’m a bit late - just saw this thread - but possible candidates could be REAVON and MAGNETAR AUDIO.

Isn't streaming the now for all formats. I built a Meridian system firstly built on 500 series and 5 by DSP 96/24 then 7 by 96/24 speakers. Both system iterations had 2 x SW1600 (front) and a SW5500 (rear) It was fantastic but I had misjudged the necessities of such a system with cohabitants.

No one was really interested so went back to 2 channel only, Sooloos then Roon / Tidal Streaming. Think very carefully about how much you use the DVD/Film capability before investing.

4 x 2 channel Zones here, but with the energy price increase 2 have been switched off for months.
Maybe I should have a garage sale.

Roon/Tidal for music: I can’t remember the last time I used or purchased physical CD’s.

As for video, initially I ripped all my DVD’s to my Mac Mini for streaming across my home network to my AppleTV. Now, I mostly rent movies from Apple. Occasionally, I will buy a favourite movie from Apple.

With Apple, when formats change (DVD SD to Blu-ray HD), my purchased movie will be upgraded at no additional cost. That saves on replacing my physical movie library for the latest format.

I only play Roon, either ripped CD or tidal. With the necessity for Roon to be always connected to the internet I have doubts to only rely on this, however my fiber IP has never failed on me (currently 1 gig up and down). If I would be contemplating a CD alternative I would probably opt for a transport only from CEC.

Thanks MI
All is clear now, however I dare not ask the price. My 808v6 is good enough!
Just about to play "Rich Man's World" Eilen Jewell from Album "Letters from Sinners and Strangers" to make it OK.
As a contrast the next track is "Dusty Box Car Wall" then I am invited to take a bottle from the 'High Shelf Booze"
"Thanks a Lot" is next. Good Album.
