Hi,

I have a pair of late M2s that have missing variable inductors (metal cases) on both boards. These may have been left off by accident when historically serviced. I'm looking for either 2 original ones or ideas on where replacements might be found.

Any ideas on where I might source a pair of variable inductors for the RLC network on the amp board?

Inductors are available on eBay and Amazon and elsewhere, I am sure. You will need to know what value you need and the physical dimensions may well be different from originals. Steve (SWPNT) and Mr Tech Guy both on this forum, can provide you with more help if needed.

According to the circuit diagrams, the value of the inductor is: 9mH and sits in the tweeter amp section. It could be that these were not fitted to later revisions. I've serviced a few M2s over the years but have not noticed if they were fitted or not...

If you're fitting a variable inductor, that will require an LCR bridge in order to correctly calibrate it to 9mH, so it may be simpler to find a fixed value inductor.
