It's been a long time and I can't find any info searching. How do I remove a DSP5200 speaker grill?

At the nine and three positions there are a couple of indentions in the plastic ring beneath the cloth. You can work your fingers in there and pull it off with even pressure. Doing the same with a spoon will also work. Lack of patience usually results in destruction of the grille.

I put off doing it for years. Finally got around to it and no amount of patience or care avoid two of the four grills being destroyed. To be clear in my experience the amount of force to get them out was ridiculous and no way reflects the experience others report. You may be luckier than me, but it proved a costly exercise to tighten the bolts a little.

I definitely wouldn't do it again.

It's really difficult right until the point where it moves, which is maybe a perfect combination of force balance and direction, but then it's easy and I wondered what the fuss was about.

I've never damaged them, but I'd echo the comments to be careful and patient.

Well worth tightening the drivers. Suggest getting a torque wrench for that... it's not as tight as you might expect.

^ M gave me the torque rating... I'll try and dig it out.

I’ve done it plenty of times, most of the round grills, and I’ve never had any damage or even heard of any until now. There is a knack but patience is quite critical, some are definitely tougher than others but it’s the same knack. I pull from the inside through stretched fabric at the same time as applying a little leverage on the outside, it occasionally involves swearing

Following the procedure from the manual, the grilles come off.
Although I'm using the middle finger of my right hand for the 9 o'clock position.
Can't do it with my thumb, as Meridian suggests.
