Hello

I'm using five of the inputs on the UHD722 and would like to make use of the other two. I used to use a laptop which worked with RS232 but that's no longer available.

Is it possible to add the 2 new soft keys on the G68J which select the relevant inputs on the UHD722 using the setup options on the G68J or is using a laptop the only way?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks
David

As long as the unused inputs on the UHD722 still correspond with their default MSR keys, they should just work.

There were many systems out there that when the UHD722 first came out, you could simply drop the UHD722 in place of the HD621 as long as the default source configuration of the UHD721 was not reconfigured.

You would however need to set those new UHD722 sources in the G68 to also use MD1 or MD2.

That was extremely helpful advice and I was able to use one of the spare inputs on the UHD722. There's no soft key on the G68J for it, but I can use the Meridian remote to select the new input.

I'll arrange for Control4 to be updated soon. In the meantime, is there any way I can add the soft key on the G68J corresponding to the new input on the UHD722?

Many thanks,
David

All the sources can be configured using the setup wizard from the front panel. See pages 30 and 31 of the G68 setup manual available in Duncan's Meridian info.

Thanks. I configured the source using the setup wizard from the front panel. However, there's no soft key which corresponds to the new input, meaning that the only way to select it is by using the Meridian remote.

Is there a way to add the soft key using the setup wizard?

I’ve been through all the options available on the wizard but the soft key associated with the new input I'm using on the UHD722 isn't shown on the G68's front panel.

Am I missing something here?

Hi,

The soft keys need to be set using the Configuration Program and that’s not available thru the wizard.

You can adjust the G68 (via the wizard) to display the source name that corresponds to the one selected on the UHD722 or the remote but you need to use the Configuration program to add the name to the soft key list.

Hi,

As Bruce suggested, the UHD722 inputs (see labels on the back panel) are set to correspond to some of the inputs on the G68.

If those inputs weren’t in use, the G68 may have been set up (using the config program) not to display those inputs, so you may have to use the program to reset those.

I don't have a G68 to check but doesn't the More button display more soft keys if they have been enabled?

Hi Bruce,

Yes, that*s correct. I was going on the basis that David might have tried that, but you never know.

David, check to see if any more soft keys appear when you press the “More” key. If they don’t then, they’ve been edited and you’ll need to reset them via the Configuration program.
