Hope you can help.

I have 861v8, UHD722, 5200’s front and centre.

I turned on my system but the centre and left speakers stay on standby, so sound only coming out of front right. I have tried switching everything off, then unplugging and reinserting SpeakerLink cables. Alas makes no difference.

Any ideas what’s going on? It was working perfectly until yesterday and nothing happened to upset the system.

Thanks for your advice.
Bernie

Retype the center and left speakers then make sure they are configured as per your intended purpose ie master/slave and center, left, right etc. Once this is complete, while everything is in standby, press clear on the remote. Report back. Be sure that whatever speaker is set as master in mconfig is set as master in the speaker config. If you have disconnected things, make sure to double check your connections.

Please explain how the system cabling has been connected.
Have you done any SpeakerLink cable swapping to check the cables?
Try connecting directly from the master speaker (your right) to the next slave speaker (your left), do both of the speakers turn on and off this way?

Hi Bernie,

Can you confirm if your right speaker is your Master speaker please?
Is this the one with the red LED on it?

Does this speaker show the volume and source changes if you turn the volume up and down and make source changes using the front panel buttons on the 861v8 (so not using the remote)

One other thing that you can try is to turn all components off. And use the following power up sequence.

1. Meridian external sources
2. Meridian Processor ie 861
3. Meridian Speakers.

Seem to recall on occasions that the above sequence would sometimes work.

Just thought about this and realized I gave the wrong order of power up sequence. Please reverse the order with the Speakers being powered up first
