Hi, I seem to remember that the venerable F80 made use of Hypex amplifier modules. Are they by any chance ncore modules or ucd?

https://www.diyclassd.com/diy-amplifier-modules/

Could you boost the amplifier power of the F80 by inserting a more recent ncore hypex module?

I know Russ Andrews or other dealer offered to replace the switched mode PSU to LPSU but I'm more interested in boosting the amplifier power of the F80 to more current metrics laugh

PS. The whole Meridian DSP 8000 XE using class-D for bass made me want to investigate these things. I know ncore 400 measure beatifully in this area but not sure which hypex model Meridian OEM's for the DSP8000 XE bass unit.

I think the amplification is part of the mainboard and is not interchangeable, therefore swapping a module is not viable.

The physical loudspeakers would also need to be upgraded - Perhaps Meridian could produce an F100 grin

Cheers,

Steve

That would be cool, as long as they keep the optical in, maybe add an HDMI ARC+ in for TV use. I guess Atlas based MS210 or something. In Sweden they switched to DAB+ and so not much radio stations using vanilla DAB.
