Hello everyone, I'm in need of a little help. I recently purchased a MS200 off eBay. The seller assures me it is 100% functional. My MC200 however cannot see it (yes it is plugged into the same network. Moreover I simply unplugged an existing MS200, putting the new one in its place.) When I perform an network scan, is is not visible either. I've asked the seller this question: Was the MS200 IP address defined, and if so what subnet. This being the case, DHCP would have been deselected. So my question to you all is: Can the MS200 be reset to factory condition, where one assumes DHCP is active by default? Thanks for any help that any of you can furnish. Trevor

What might help, is to log in to your router and change the DHCP settings. Usually, a device like an MS200 will have an IP address like 192.168.0.xxx. In your case, it’s possible that this is 192.168.1.xxx. I once had a problem like this, and it was solved eventually, see this topic Mistakenly set static IP for MS600.

The Sooloos configuration program seems to have the ability to see MS200 and no doubt other Sooloos type kit that’s on the same cabled network even if the address is in a different subset (192.168.1.xx vs the router 192.168.0.xx example) it allows you to change the static IP address or reset it to DHPC. There’s a little bit more to it such as need to restart etc but it works well otherwise.
Apologies if I’ve got the nomenclature slightly wrong but I think you can see what I mean?
Hope that helps? I haven’t checked you can still get the config from Meridians new website, somebody mentioned Sooloos seemed to have been cleansed from it.

AH!! Yes the Meridian Sooloos Configuration Program does in fact find (in my case) a stray ! MS200. It appears the original owner had the IP set to 192.168.8.53. I'd forgotten about this useful little tool. DHCP now enforced on the MS200, and IP bind to MAC now set on my Draytek Router ... all happy once again. Thanks for your help, Trevor

Resellers really should reset static IP before they sell gear. It causes so much grief.
