I have been using my G68SL exclusively for the past 5 years in my home theater setup. Nothing but TV watching, movies and sports.

Now I am hooking up a nice Pro-Ject turntable (with preamp) to my G68SL for relaxing with a nice vinyl pressing and an adult beverage.

What are people recommending for DSP settings for this type of use? I have a 5.1 setup with three DSP 5000's (left, right and center) and some surrounds, but my guess is that left and right only might be the way to go. Which DSP setting do you like for simple, clean music playback?

I've always liked Trifield. I modified it slightly for my room dimensions and audio preferences and stored it as a custom preset.

YMMV.

I’d give all the presets a go!

It’s a great place to be having such choice and if I am correct you have MRC so can tailor if you have any bass issues (for example).

I also enjoy Trifield, I use a lot for 2ch music as well as TV broadcasts.

At times it feels wrong to move away from the Direct DSP setting but really it’s worth a go to try the others, in my view. Direct is very easy to listen to, Trifield for me is a bit more engaging.

Your DSP speakers have 2 digital inputs. It would be worth a try just feeding the output of your phono stage if it has a digital output(?) to D2 and reconfiguring the LP input to use D2.

This would bypass the processor completely. Direct through the G68 is still being processed and effects the sound.

Just a thought

Cheers
Greg

That's assuming that the phono stage has a digital output. More likely it's got an analogue output possibly with a USB port.

Thanks for all in the input. My preamp does not have a digital output. I will be experimenting over the weekend with different DSP's. Can't wait.

We still prefer direct preset for use with an LP player..

I recommend it, over all the other DSP modes..
