Selling a pair of my DSP5000s, no original boxes, so local sale only. I did not plan on selling these, but I have used them so little in the last two years that I would rather see someone enjoy these fabulous speakers. I used these every day for about a month after re-capping them, and since then, they have sat mostly unused in storage in my home (non-smoking with no pets).
This is an original 18-bit upgraded pair, 24/96 upgrade was performed by technician R. Snell on 3-16-2000. Black Ash cabinets with some scratches, wear and dents consistent with their age. Front displays are in good shape, and the 7-segment displays are bright with no missing segments. Sonically, they are wonderful and sound identical to my smiley face pair I recapped around the same time. The grilles have some small pinholes in the cloth visible on close inspection, but the frames are intact and structurally sound. One small dent in the back panel on one speaker near the RCA jacks. These are both running firmware version 5.21, (latest available).
These were meticulously serviced by me back in July of 2019. I re-capped the amp boards with Nichicon Ultra Fine Gold caps and also addressed the load resistors. The load resistors were replaced with uprated ones following Meridian Tech Note 41_2, and I sourced the ones Meridian use per George Mills post.
You can read the threads posted by myself and others, but re-capping older DSPs is transformational. They sound night and day different and the service really brings the speakers back to their full glory- all of the sparkle and dazzle returns. Low hours since re-cap, a few hours a day for about a month, until I serviced another set.
I pulled them out and re-connected them and have been running them the past two days- sound is wonderful, and it is easy to forget just how amazing and versatile these speakers are. Excellent bass given the smaller footprint, and much lighter to move around vs. the 5500s or 6000s.
Happy to answer any questions and send photos to interested buyers. Local sale only since I cannot pack these up. Longtime Meridian fan and owner (almost 20 years on this forum), and looking forward to seeing these go to a new home.
PM for price and details.

Updating with a price. I am asking $1,350.00 for the pair. They also come with power cords and a set of cables to connect them (digital and comms, but not original Meridian ones).
