Does anybody have any idea on the best way to stream Apple Music now that it's going high res. Roon doesn't work, ID41?

We can’t be certain until the official announcement.
Even so, one possibility is Mac Mini > FireStream > Meridian 210.

I noticed on my new Antipodes, there is a Shairport app that is meant to stream from AirPlay. Not played with it yet, but that would seem to stream to USB. Could be pretty neat if it means I can tell Siri to play a particular song and have it stream straight to USB or SPDIF on the Antipodes.

I wonder if the app will have a pass through like Tidal,
or will the user have to change the Audio Midi settings on their Mac
to get 24/192?

As more information emerges, supported Apple devices include: iPhone, iPad, Mac, and AppleTV.
Unsupported devices are: AirPods/Pro/Max, and HomePod/Mini.

It seems strange - the only devices Apple sell that turn high res music into sound are incompatible with it. The devices that, ur, don't produce any sound, are compatible!

Yeah, reasonable amount of speculation that the 48k Airplay2 "cap" may be lifted. Nothing mentioned in Apple's current statement on lossless though.
