Hi, I'm having issues with setting up Roon with my 818v3. I have 818v3 connected to MC200 and DSP8000s. I have my Roon core on a PC elsewhere in the house. I have Roon supporting 15 or so endpoints around the house, mostly Bluesound. It generally works well throughout, except on my Meridan system. Roon shows the ID41 and MC200 as end-points, (although there's nothing to hear the sound from MC200), as its just used as storage for the 818v3 with ID41.
1. I open Roon, go to Settings>Audio, and see the ID41 in my Roon tested section. I enable it. Music plays for 1-2 seconds and drops out. Roon shows "Select Audio Zone", ID41 disappears from the list of devices, then comes back after 7 seconds. I play again, and the same thing happens, music plays for 1-2 seconds, drops out.
2. Separately if I open the Sooloos App and play music stored on the MC200, then the ID41 drops off from Roon. I have to stop the music on the Sooloos App, and then re-enable ID41 in Roon, by going to Settings>Audio and re-enable ID41.
Please could anyone help with this?

Running Roon and Sooloos can be fiddly. Pick one for the ID41 and stay with it. Do a native export of the music stored on the MC200 to a USB drive then attached it to the Roon core so that music is available in Roon. Also be sure to update the firmware on the ID41 using Meridian Device Manager.

I could understand the business reasons for Meridian ending support for Tidal in Sooloos, but didn't anticipate that moving to Roon to enable Tidal would essentially convert my MC200 into an expensive brick. Ouch.

The MC200 can be modified to run Roon core. The MC200 could also be used on a system running only the local library in Sooloos.

Thanks Bruce, I had a search on the forum about how to modify the MC200 to run the Roon core, but I couldn't find any information. That would probably be a good solution for me as the MC200 sits next to my Meridian, and it would be good to get it off my main PC.

The MC200 to ROCK conversion works perfectly.
MrTech Guy did a great job, it took quite some time but worth it.
