Not to sound negative, but I can't see anything good coming out of it. I'm thinking of the potential downstream impact to those of us that are "all in" on Roon as well.

I'm guessing not much will happen. Maybe a price increase since he seems committed to paying the artists more. That could result in more exclusives for the service or albums appearing on Tidal a few months before they are on the other music services. I doubt he bought it to drive it into the toilet.

So, the owner of Tidal joins forces with the owner of Twitter.
The new enterprise will be rebranded as ‘Twaddle’.

My concern is around the focus of providing high quality streaming. They were a pioneer. And then of course with MQA. Only time will tell if that is a priority.

Spotify HiFi won’t help Tidal or Qobuz. MQA still seems to polarise the audio community that was most likely to be its adopters and so remains is a bit of a hard sell.
