Even the Focal Arche has been discontinued - so finding a quality desktop Headphone Amp/DAC at this price is quickly eroding.

I think that it is so far away -- strategically -- from what Meridian is doing these days. Speaking frankly, Meridian consumer HiFi is dead, in spite of the notable efforts of two dealers on this forum; Meridian just happens to have an existing product portfolio in the HiFi space.

This CYP AU-D250 is a good example on how Meridian could develop a Headphone Amp/DAC in a 200 Series case (inc OLED display).

There is always the (faint?) hope that it wouldn't be too difficult for M to do some upgrades (e.g. upgraded power supply) to the 200 series circuit boards and stick them in a G-series case (e.g. combined 210 & 218 in the same G series box or an upgrade to the AC200 with a network port).

Has anybody tried it with a Prime?

I'm quite tempted...
But prime already have DC-jack for connection to Prime PSU?

Or where you referring driving a 210/218 with a Prime PSU? I think Prime PSU was only 1A @12V, hat is cutting it a bit close. 2A is probably ok especially if you disable wifi and run wired LAN.

Yes!

- Prime PSU is 12V at 0.5A max / 6W

- 218 - Cosel TUHS5F12 is 12V at 0.45A max / 5.4W

- 210 - Cosel TUHS10F12 is 12V at 0.9A max / 10.8W

Ha ha. Well I already have a Prime. Having said that, I've also worked out why the 210 has a higher rating... it's a higher output version of the same SMPS.

So I'm now looking at the Farad...
