Ran Mconfig on my G68 a few more times and had a couple of easy questions
1) How accurate is the Low Frequency Response graph given the noted non-linear response of the Radio Shack SPL meter? I've seen 1/3 octave corrections for the SPL meter, and if I apply the 40Hz - 20Hz corrections, I'd get a few more peaks down there that MRC seems to be ignoring...
2) That said, is it worth the trouble of investing in a different measurement mic?
3) Do the phase and calibration settings have any bearing on the MRC program? After going through the calibration program, my left surround, right surround and subwoofers are all - phase, the rest of my speakers are + phase. Should I bother rewiring the - phase speakers or will that not really amount to anything?
4) After setting up a 185ms target filter (small room 12' x 21' x 6.5') I get a SIGNIFICANT reduction in perceived bass output. Just by ear, it seems to be at least a 3db reduction in overall bass output in the lower octaves. Should I take a guess at the reduction in the bass level and adjust my subwoofer level accordingly, or stick w/ the calibrated level?
thanks,
Jon
