Hi everyone,
Please can you help me?
I have been using a Meridian 518 signal processor between my 500 CD transport and DSP6000’s.
I plan to replace the 500 transport with the MC200.
My question is should I continue to use the 518 or just go direct to the speakers.
I ask as I understand the MC200 has an anodising filter built in.
What do you think? All advice welcome.
Best
Tim

I use a 518 between my TV and DAB Radio and my 218 pre amp. For the TV I add 12db gain and 3 for DAB radio. Why? Because it just sounds right to my ears... The 218 upsamples and apodises along with MQA.
I use the Optical out from TV to 518 for all Bluray/DVD, Sat TV and Chromecast sources and it all sounds great.

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Thanks Chris, helpful to know. I have also found it great in improving the sound when I Airplay to my Apple TV. I just wasn’t sure I need it ti improve the MC200.

I think it’s best employed on any standard bit rate inputs so the MC200 gets the cleanest signal to work with. It also looks classic in the equipment rack...

I have never tried to pass an MQA signal through it. I wonder if that would remain intact?
