Hi,
Does the G series have a phono stage on any of its analogue inputs, or do I need a separate one?

The kids want a turntable for XMas and so I thought instead of a crappy USB one, I'd get something budget like a Rega and feed it through the Meridian. I guess the budget is c.£500 for a turntable and phono stage (if required), if anyone has any recommendations?

Some turntables, such as TEAC, have integral phono amps.

Is it too much of a stretch to find a turntable that can output to the G61 via phono, but then Bluetooth(?) to the Sonos in the other room?

I think Rega covers most bases these days, you can get a FONO,you can also get an A2D,so you can feed a turntable into the analogue inputs, or with a digital feed.Some care needs to be taken using the analogue inputs,as even with the maximum input sensitivity setting of 2.5mV,its still quite easy to overload the input, especially with some modern records.You probably won't hear that much distortion, but it is there, mainly with overblown bass.If you go with Rega,if the kids get bored with it you should be able to recoup something back but hopefully it won't and preserve the longevity of vinyl

The Rega Phono Mini A2D has a regular analogue output and a USB output, if that's a help.

Hi, Pete. I have a G65 and am using a Pass Labs XP-25. It works great with the Meridian and has settings upfront for gain, cartridge loading, etc., as well as two phono inputs. The Pass XP-15 is also a good choice and is a little less expensive. Both are quiet as a tomb and use Toshiba JFETS for tube-like sound. Highly recommended.

A project phono box can be had for around £30 to £50 on eBay, I have used one in the past and they would suit what you describe.
