I was wondering if the UHD722 is a good choice?
I will feed in a Bluray player (new 4k player to buy), Xbox, Sky Q and Fire TV stick. Outputting at a TV and a projector. And, of course in to my 861v8.
I've just started looking for alternatives as I am balking at the price. Is the 722 over priced or is it worth it?

You can achieve the same switching and audio extraction (though not MHR) by other, cheaper means. However, you do not get the convenience of control integration within the Meridian ecosystem and MHR gives you excellent digital audio interfacing with your 861. I am afraid, like cars, when you get to the top echelons of audio equipment, value for money is hard to make objective. Will you feel happy knowing that you have the best? If so, then look out for a really good second hand UHD722 because you may get all the good feelings (and sound) at a lower price. I never by a new car - at any level. Who knows, in due course Meridian's classic equipment (and sound) may start at some point to go up in price (not yet though - grab a bargain - just like cars).

That makes sense. I'm going to investigate alternatives to see how much they might be; recognising the lack of system elegance. I\m assuming there will be no Black Fridays deals for the UHD722. I might see if a dealer will offer me a discount if I purchase a few other things at the same time - I also want/need a new projector, Bluray player, a centre and rears...

Hi,
I bit the bullet and purchased the UHD722 and quite frankly as previous reply I am happy with the total integration with my other M equipment and especially MHR. I bought from Rick at Audio images and I'm sure he would give you a good deal especially if you buy other equipment. He is a top rate dealer and second to none in M knowledge. There aren't too many second user 722s about.
Good luck.
Regards
Bob
