Meridian Unplugged - Powered by MrTechGuy.co.uk Forums Discussion MQA - Related technology, products and music MQA: your most favourite demonstation MQA tracks found on Tidal

Which are your mindblowing MQA-tracks that you use to demonstrate the auqio quality of MQA ? (only tracks , no full albums or artists)

Since Tidal started offering MQA, i really discovered a lot of tracks which are really impressive, especcially when there's a lot of dynamic in the track.
A few of my favourites which will blow you away:

- Astrud Gilberto: Windy (a lot of detail)
- Wings: Silly Love Songs (nice percussion beat, which remains very detailled)
- Alanis Morisette: Hands In My Pocket (nice bass and lots of dynamic)
- Rod Stewart: Handbags & Gladrags (nice analog soundstage)
- Donna Summer - I Feel Love (bassline which remains all the time very detailled - never realised that disco music could sound that nice)
- David Bowie - Wild Is The Wind (the drum part in the middle, is really wow!)
- Supertramp - Dreamer (detailled and nice development of the track)
- Janelle Monae - That's Enough (brass section is very natural and detailled)
- America - A Horse With No Name (thate horse persussion!)
- Donna Summer - Bad Girls (brass section and detailled percussion)
- De Staat - Kitty Kitty (reference material to show the dynamics of your speakers)
- Supermax - Love Machine (nice analog soundstage)
- Sandie Shaw - Puppet On A String (very detailled rhythm and persuccion line)

Good Question

My answer is "Good Question" J.S. Ondara.

His cover of "Heart of Gold" gives a short appreciation of his extraordinary voice.

However this is a seminal first album and should be listened to as a complete entity.

Apologies for breaking the rules, his second album "Folk and Roll Vol 1 Tales of Isolation" was recorded at home and is the result of COVID isolation. It is spontaneous and deserves a strong recommendation here.

For Roon/Tidal fans read the notes by Mark Deming.

Thanks for the Foy Vance reminder CMR.

Hector

Clock is Running by Seasick Steve gets my vote.
