Hi,
Is there a way to limit the volume on the G68?
I have a NEEO remote. Worked wonders, very happy (even given them selling out to control4) until... it somehow decided on a random key touch to keep the volume + signal going in runaway mode. Not a good experience as you can imagine. I was only just in time getting to the power switch of the G68 before something would break.
I would like to avoid any future issues by limiting the volume on the G68. Had expected it to be a standard feature, but could not find it.
Any suggestions that avoid me testing whether the equipment, my ears, or parts of my old house give out first?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. I've also been looking for this, but not found it.
Once when I had people home, and we might have been drinking a little too much, one of the guests started to increase the volume pretty fast. That costed me three tweeters for my Revel speakers. My G68ADV was set to Trifield.
Later I had a friend home to help with settings for my subwoofer etc. He measured the outputs and found that above 0 (87) my G68 starts clipping, sending out a square wave. I assume it was this that killed my tweeters, I don't know if this is normal, or something wrong with my G68.

The only thing you can set with the G68 is the startup volume; you could probably have a device that would counteract the volume control via RS232, a Crestron device for example.
The simplest way would be to attenuate the outputs, either with separate attenuators or with custom leads with resistors built in (this is assuming your power amp doesn't have the ability to attenuate the signals).
All the best,
Steve

Thanks for confirming.
Indeed I could look into limiting the output somehow, but will go for the easier option: get a different universal remote.

If you use a control system that issue serial commands you can limit the volume in the serial code.

Thanks for the hint Bruce. For now I'll go Logitech Elite, but will look into other options as a winter project.
